Vladimir Putin is “testing the limits” of his power by hitting Poland with a missile, according to a Ukrainian MP. While many have claimed the strike was a “fluke” given its close proximity to Ukraine, it still remains unclear if the missile was even fired from Russia.President Biden told reporters in Bali, where he is attending the G20 summit, said that given the “trajectory” it seems “unlikely” it was fired from Russian territory. However, Ukrainian MP Lesia Vasylenko has expressed doubt over this rhetoric. She tweeted: “I sense a lot of wishful thinking for this attack of #russia on #Poland to be just a fluke.”No logic behind provoking NATO, so couldn’t have been deliberate, right?”Wrong! #putin is testing the limits. No reaction=appeasement.”A full investigation will be conducted in Poland to establish exactly what happened.President Biden confirmed: “We agreed to support Poland’s investigation into the explosion in rural Poland, near the Ukrainian border, and they’re going to make sure we figure out exactly what happened.”The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the missile as a “Russian-made”, a term which could encompass S-300 ground to air missiles currently possessed by Ukraine.READ MORE: Germany could be ‘wiped off’ the map over Russian ‘existential threatsIt said: “We discussed the explosion that took place in the eastern part of Poland near the border with Ukraine.”We offer our full support for and assistance with Poland’s ongoing investigation.”We agree to remain in close touch to determine appropriate next steps as the investigation proceeds.”
